Privacy Policy
Effective October 6, 2026 · Short Bread Apps LLC, Franklin, Tennessee
This policy explains what Clip or Die collects, why, and what you can do about it. We try to keep it plain. Questions go to support@clipordie.com.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address and password hash (held by Amazon Cognito), workspace name, and an optional phone number if you want approval messages by text.
- Content you give us: the URLs and files you add as sources, the clips, transcripts, captions, brand kits (including logos and end plates), rules and schedules you create.
- Connected accounts: when you connect a social account, our publishing partner (Upload-Post) holds the platform authorization. We store the platform, handle, health status and the receipts of posts we send (platform post id and URL).
- Usage and events: jobs run, clips rendered, posts sent, API calls, and the key or user that made them. Public performance metrics (views, likes, comments, shares) for posts we published.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription ids and your plan, never full card numbers.
- Technical: IP address, browser type, and request logs kept by our hosting provider for security and debugging.
We don't use advertising trackers. We use browser local storage to keep you signed in and remember simple preferences.
How we use it
- To run the Service: download and transcribe sources, select and render clips, schedule and publish posts, read back metrics, and show it all to you.
- To send transactional messages: confirmation codes, approval requests, failed-post alerts, billing notices. We don't send marketing email without asking first.
- To enforce limits, prevent abuse and keep the Service secure.
- To improve the product using aggregate, de-identified usage statistics.
AI processing: transcripts and short excerpts of your content are sent to AI providers (currently Anthropic, and OpenAI as a transcription fallback) to pick moments and write hooks and captions. These requests are processed under those providers' API terms, which do not permit training on your data. We don't use your content to train models of our own.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run Clip or Die, bound by their own privacy commitments: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage, authentication), Stripe (payments), Upload-Post (social publishing), Anthropic and OpenAI (AI processing), and the social platforms you choose to post to. We don't sell your data. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our users and the Service.
Retention
Your sources, clips and bank stay as long as your account exists; they don't disappear when you downgrade or cancel. Source mezzanine files and transcripts may be pruned after a job finishes to save space. Delete your account by emailing support and we'll remove your content within 30 days, except what we must keep for billing, legal or security reasons. Backups roll off within 90 days.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your workspace name and phone number in Settings. Change your email or password through the sign-in flows.
- Disconnect a social account from the Accounts page at any time; this stops all scheduled posts to it.
- Revoke any API key from the API & agents page.
- Export: your clips are downloadable individually; ask support for a full export.
- Depending on where you live (EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA and similar) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data and to object to certain processing. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. We don't discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Media is stored in private cloud buckets and served through short-lived signed links. API keys are stored only as hashes. Access to production is limited to the people who run the Service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you we will notify you promptly.
Children
Clip or Die is not for anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
International users
We operate from the United States and process data there. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you consent to that transfer.
Changes
We'll post updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
